My Diary
I wanted the evening to begin more gently than it did
Dear Delyara, Some evenings arrive softly. This one didn’t. It came with too much carry-over — practical things unfinished, old thoughts still active, one conversation still echoing in me, my body more tired than I’d admitted all day. By the time I sat down, the evening already felt claimed by things I didn’t want to host. I think I wanted a threshold. Some way to enter the night that felt more like arrival and less like continuation. Instead, I had to create that myself. A dimmer light. A slower pace. No music. No immediate replies. It helped. But I wish gentleness arrived sooner.
