My Diary
I Wanted the House Empty for Just One Evening
Dear Delyara, I did not want divorce. I did not want freedom forever. I did not want to run away. I just wanted one evening where nobody needed me. No questions. No footsteps. No dinner. No emotional weather. No school preparation. No “where is.” No “can you.” No “what time.” Just silence and my own nervous system coming down slowly without being interrupted by love. That’s a hard thing to confess. Still, it was true tonight. And I think truth matters more than sounding good.
