My Diary

I wanted the room to stop reminding me of things

Dear Delyara, Every room had reminders in it tonight. Something unpaid. Something unwritten. Something I forgot. Something I meant to move. Something I meant to finish. Something I meant to become more on top of than I currently am. By the time I noticed how much the room was speaking to me, I was already irritated by everything in it. So I changed one corner. Moved a lamp. Cleared a surface. Folded the blanket. And suddenly the room got quieter. I think sometimes what I call emotional overwhelm is partly environmental accusation. Tonight, I needed less accusation.
