My Diary

I wanted the world to stop asking for passwords

Dear Delyara, One account, then another, then some verification email, then the bank app, then the school thing, then a work login that refused to recognise the exact password I know was right five minutes earlier. By the third one, I felt a level of rage that had nothing to do with security and everything to do with being too tired for invisible obstacles. I think digital life is particularly cruel when your brain is already stretched. It creates one more layer of small dependence and friction, and somehow that friction lands in the same body already holding children, money, work, and the shape of the whole evening. By the time I got through, I felt less like an adult and more like a hostage negotiating with fonts and code.
