My Diary

I wanted to be asked if I was tired before I looked tired enough to justify it

Dear Delyara, That might be one of the deepest wishes under a lot of my evenings. Not to be rescued. Not to be hovered over. Just to be noticed a little earlier. Before my voice changes too much. Before my patience gets thin enough to affect the room. Before my face starts telling on me so clearly that concern becomes socially required. I think that is the form of care I miss most often. Not dramatic compassion. Accurate timing. There are days when I feel like my humanity only becomes visible once it has gone slightly past its healthiest limit.
