My Diary

I wanted to be hugged without being asked what’s wrong

Dear Delyara, That was the whole feeling. No talking first. No emotional paperwork. No “what happened?” No need to translate the ache into something explainable before comfort could arrive. Just warmth. Pressure. A body saying I know you’re carrying something, and I don’t need the full report before I respond kindly to it. I think I’m tired of how often comfort is offered only after language. Some nights I need it before language. Tonight was one of them.
