My Diary
I wanted to be kinder than I was
Dear Delyara, I was more impatient today than I wanted to be. Nothing awful happened. I wasn’t cruel. But I could feel how thin my softness had become. A small interruption irritated me more than it should have. A harmless question felt demanding. Even being spoken to at the wrong moment made me feel crowded. Afterward I sat with that disappointed feeling — the one where you know your tiredness leaked onto someone who didn’t deserve the full weight of it. I want to be gentler than I am on days like this. But some days I run low on gentleness before the day is over.
