My Diary
I wanted to be left unread for a while
Dear Delyara, That is such a strange modern feeling, but it was true all day. I didn’t want replies. Didn’t want reactions. Didn’t want the sense of being actively in people’s minds. I wanted to exist without immediate access. Sometimes being contactable makes me feel over-defined. Too reachable. Too quickly available for interpretation, response, expectation, follow-up. By evening, even harmless notifications felt like little taps on a bruise. So I turned things over, let messages wait, and sat with the discomfort of not being instantly responsive. It felt both guilty and peaceful. Which probably says too much about me.
