My Diary

I wanted to be looked after in an ordinary way

Dear Delyara, I didn’t want a grand gesture tonight. I wanted someone to notice something small before I had to ask. A cup of tea already made. A task already done. A softer tone without me earning it. The kind of care that says, “I can tell you have less available right now, so let me make this moment lighter.” I think what I miss most some days is not romance or excitement. It’s shared weight. The ordinary intimacy of not always being the one who sees everything first.
