My Diary
I wanted to be understood without having to perform pain
Dear Delyara, I think what exhausts me most some days is not the pain itself. It’s the performance required to make pain legible enough for other people. You have to say it properly. Calmly. Clearly. Without sounding dramatic. Without sounding vague. Without saying too much. Without saying too little. It makes me want to keep quiet, even when silence hurts. I wish understanding were more intuitive between people. Maybe that is too much to ask.
