My Diary
I wanted to hear a voice that wasn’t asking anything
Dear Delyara, I think that’s what made today tiring. Every voice seemed to want something. Even kind voices. Even ordinary voices. A response. A decision. An opinion. A mood. A level of attention I was beginning to run short on. By the evening, I wanted to hear a voice that asked nothing of me. Not because I was angry at anyone. Because I felt over-entered. So I chose silence instead. And for once, silence felt more like company than absence.
