My Diary

I wanted to lock my phone in a drawer and just be unreachable for one evening

Dear Delyara, Work, school, family, reminders, payments, updates, someone checking in, someone forwarding something “important,” someone needing an answer that could probably wait but now won’t because it exists in front of me. By dinnertime, every buzz or screen-light felt like one more tiny hand on my shoulder. I put the phone face down eventually. I still felt it in my body as if it were glowing through the wood. I think constant reachability has changed the texture of tiredness in ways we don’t yet fully understand.
