My Diary
I wanted to lock the bathroom door even though no one was trying to come in
Dear Delyara, That’s how crowded I felt. It wasn’t about danger. It was about boundary. Sometimes I think the body wants symbols when it’s tired — little physical gestures that stand in for a deeper emotional need. Locking the bathroom door felt like saying, for ten minutes, nothing enters here without permission. No requests. No practical questions. No one else’s timing. No one else’s mood. I did lock it. Then I sat on the edge of the bath and did absolutely nothing for a minute or two. That was enough to make me realize how defended I had been all day without fully noticing.
