My Diary
I wanted to lock the front door and not answer it again
Dear Delyara, A neighbour at the wrong moment. A delivery. A school call. A family call. One child home upset. My husband asking if we still needed something from the shop. Even the dog seemed louder than usual. By late afternoon I felt as if every door in my life opened directly into me. When someone knocked again around six, I actually froze. Not because I thought anything bad had happened. Because I had no emotional skin left for one more interruption. I opened the door politely. I was still furious at life for having a door at all. That sounds ridiculous. It also felt real.
