My Diary
I wanted to turn my phone off all evening
Dear Delyara, Work can reach me. School can reach me. Family can reach me. Friends can reach me. The bank can reach me. Delivery updates can reach me. Unknown numbers can reach me. I can be in my own house, in my own socks, carrying my own tiredness, and still feel publicly available in ten directions. That is the part I’m getting tired of. Not the messages themselves. The constant possibility of them. I left the phone on the counter for an hour and felt both relief and guilt. Relief was more honest.
