My Diary

I was angry at someone who wasn’t there

Dear Delyara, An old memory came back today and took my whole mood with it. Nothing in the room caused it. No one around me had done anything wrong. And yet suddenly I was angry — not at the present moment, but at someone who hurt me years ago and probably has no idea that certain things still echo in me. It’s strange to live with old anger. Especially the kind you don’t respect enough to call by its full name. Mine rarely comes out loud. It usually becomes silence, distance, fatigue, sarcasm I don’t say. But it is there.
