My Diary

I was angry, but only inside

Dear Delyara, I was angry all day, but no one really saw it. That’s how my anger works most of the time. It doesn’t slam doors or raise its voice. It goes quiet. It hardens my shoulders. It shortens my sentences. It becomes distance. It becomes silence with pressure inside it. People often describe me as calm. I let them. It is easier than explaining how much of that “calm” is actually containment.
