My Diary
I Was Gentle With Someone, Not With Me
Dear Delyara, I was patient with everyone today except myself. That’s becoming a pattern I’m trying to notice more clearly. I know how to give other people room. I know how to make allowances, explain behavior kindly, forgive bad moods, understand tiredness, excuse imperfection. But the second it’s me? The standard changes. I become less human in my own eyes. Less forgivable. Less allowed. I don’t know when I learned that compassion should travel outward but stop at my own skin. I just know I’m tired of it.
