My Diary
I Was Jealous of Someone’s Confidence
Dear Delyara, I met someone today who seemed completely comfortable being themselves. Not loud. Not arrogant. Just easy. I spent the rest of the day thinking about how much energy I use managing myself. My voice, my face, my tone, my wording, my reactions. It all happens so quickly now that it almost feels natural, but I know it costs me. I was jealous. Then I was sad. Maybe jealousy is often just grief for the version of you that had to become careful too early.
