My Diary
I was jealous of someone’s simplicity
Dear Delyara, Not their beauty. Not their money. Not their job. Their simplicity. The way they seemed to move through the day without everything becoming emotionally layered. The way they answered without overthinking tone. The way they seemed to want things without immediately fearing them. The way they occupied space without apology or commentary. I know I am probably romanticizing what I cannot see. Still, the jealousy was real. Sometimes I think what I want most is not more. It’s simpler.
