The SilenceLoneliness

I Was with People All Day and Still Felt Alone

Dear Delyara, I was around people all day and still came home feeling lonely. That is one of the cruellest kinds of loneliness because it doesn’t even have the dignity of solitude. It happens in plain sight. While laughing. While responding. While participating normally enough that no one suspects you’re emotionally elsewhere. I think what I felt was not lack of company. It was lack of being reached. There is a difference. A big one.
