My Diary
I watched my husband read the same email three times and realised he is more tired than he says
Dear Delyara, He didn’t complain. He didn’t need to. I saw it in the way his eyes moved over the screen without really taking it in, the way his shoulders sat, the way he rubbed his forehead after. There’s a particular sadness in noticing someone you love is carrying more than they can admit in their own language. Marriage can be this too. Not always conversation. Sometimes witness. I made tea and didn’t ask what was wrong. That felt like the right kind of love for that moment. 17.
