Dear Delyara, I hate the smell, the waiting, the chair, the feeling of my body being positioned and worked on while I try to look calmer than I am. None of that has changed. What changed is that I stopped using fear as a reason to delay something I knew needed doing. I booked it. I showed up. I stayed. That matters to me because courage in my life rarely looks cinematic. It looks like an ordinary appointment that I did not cancel this time. And that still counts.
