I went for the walk even though I knew it wouldn’t fix the mood
Dear Delyara, Sometimes I avoid helpful things because part of me expects them to either solve everything or expose me to disappointment. Yesterday I felt low and heavy, and I knew a walk would not transform the day. It would not erase the pressure, untangle the finances, or answer the messages I didn’t want to read. But I went anyway. I walked around the block twice. The mood stayed. My body softened slightly. That was enough. I think a more mature version of health is learning to do small helpful things without demanding they become miracles.
