My Diary

I went to bed before the kitchen was perfect and the house survived without my final act

Dear Delyara, One mug was still on the side. One pan was soaking. The lunches were not fully prepped. The tea towels were not folded. The floor had not been swept. And yet, I went upstairs. I could feel the old pull to “just finish” so that tomorrow would start from a more respectable place. But I was too tired, and for once I respected that before turning my tiredness into one more moral inconvenience I had to work past. This morning the kitchen was still there, waiting. So was I. That feels small. It also feels like progress.
