My Diary

I went to bed feeling more like a hallway than a person

Dear Delyara, Everything had passed through me all day. Children’s moods, work pressure, the house, money worry, dinner, school things, practical questions, lost items, tomorrow’s shape, everyone’s timing. By bedtime I felt less like someone living a life and more like a passageway through which other people’s life kept moving. That’s such a strange kind of exhaustion. Not collapse. Not even proper sadness. Just the feeling of having been function more than self for too many hours in a row. I slept. But I slept like a hallway finally going dark.
