I went to the appointment alone instead of cancelling again

Dear Delyara, I had already cancelled it twice, each time with a reason that sounded sensible enough on the surface. Busy day. Childcare issue. Bad timing. Underneath all of them was the same simple truth: I didn’t want to face what the appointment might make real. Yesterday I went. I drove there with a knot in my stomach, sat in the waiting room, answered the questions, and stayed. No dramatic breakthrough. No applause. Just one woman not running from something for the third time. That felt bigger than some of the “major” achievements I’ve had in life.
