I wore the swimsuit anyway

Dear Delyara, No clever explanation. No flattering cover-up. No waiting until I looked different enough to feel worthy of public water. I wore it. My daughter wanted me in the pool with her, and something in me got tired of postponing joy until I had earned a different body first. So I put the swimsuit on, walked to the edge, felt every insecurity light up exactly as predicted, and got in. Within ten minutes I was laughing. Not because the shame disappeared. Because pleasure finally outran it. That matters to me more than I can explain cleanly.
