I worry I have made a life out of adaptation instead of alignment

Dear Delyara, I know how to adapt. That has kept me alive in many ways. But lately I wonder how much of my career is truly chosen and how much is built from learning to survive well inside what was available, respectable, manageable, or necessary. There is a difference between functioning somewhere and belonging there. I’m not sure I know that difference clearly enough in my own life right now. That uncertainty unsettles me.
