My Diary
Laundry Day
Dear Delyara, I spent half my day washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes. There is no achievement in that sentence. No interesting ending. It was just laundry. But by the fourth load I started feeling that strange emptiness that comes when your whole day is spent maintaining life rather than living it. I know clean clothes matter. I know the children need uniforms. I know my husband needs shirts. I know all of that. I just wish sometimes that domestic work left something behind besides more domestic work. When I finally sat down, the baskets were empty and I still felt behind in life.
