My Diary
Longing Is Not Proof
Dear Delyara, I almost texted him today. It is embarrassing how quickly memory turns selective. How the mind edits out the humiliation and loneliness and only keeps the late-night tenderness, the jokes, the feeling of being chosen for a moment. But I did not text him. Instead I sat with the ache and let it be ugly. I let myself admit that missing someone is not the same thing as being meant for them. That is what I am trying to learn: longing is not proof.
