Losing my breath

Dear Delyara, Six months ago, I could barely walk up a flight of stairs without losing my breath. Today, I finished my first 5k run. I remember how much I hated those first few weeks, how every muscle in my body screamed at me to go back to the couch. But I kept showing up, even when it was raining, even when I was tired. Crossing that finish line today wasn't about the medal; it was about the fact that I didn't give up on myself. My body is stronger, but my mind is even tougher. I am capable of so much more than I ever imagined.
