Money can still change my tone faster than anything else
Dear Delyara, One number, one bill, one payment going out at the wrong time, and I can feel the whole version of me my family gets starting to shrink. Less patience, less ease, less humour, less softness. It frightens me how quickly financial pressure changes the atmosphere of the house through me. I don’t want to be that affected. I am. Because it isn’t only the money. It’s everything the money threatens to touch next — food, sleep, plans, safety, self-respect, future room to breathe. So one ordinary financial thing becomes emotionally larger than itself before I’ve even had time to sit down and think properly. That speed still makes me ashamed. And tired.
