Money stress makes me feel morally smaller

Dear Delyara, What I hate is not only the practical fear. It’s the way money stress can alter self-worth if I’m not careful. One payment due, one low balance, one future cost I don’t yet know how to hold — and suddenly it isn’t just numbers anymore. It becomes a story about whether I’m failing, whether I’m behind, whether I’m making poor choices, whether I’m less adult than I should be by now. That jump from finances to identity happens too quickly in me. I know it’s not fair. It still happens. I want money to feel like reality, not judgment.
