The SilenceAnger
My anger still knows how to disappear into competence
Dear Delyara, I keep functioning. I keep sounding calm. I keep delivering what is required. And all the while, the anger slips underneath competence where nobody has to respond to it directly. Because if I remain capable, people rarely ask what it cost. If I stay articulate, they assume I’m okay. If I stay useful, they miss the hurt. I think I’ve spent years letting anger become excellent behavior. That does not make it less real. It just makes it easier for the world to ignore.
