The SilenceAnger
My anger still wears politeness like camouflage
Dear Delyara, It’s one of the oldest disguises I know. I can sound calm while feeling cut. I can sound reasonable while feeling furious. I can make the words so tidy that nobody feels forced to acknowledge the injury beneath them. That kind of control has protected me. It has also hidden me. I think anger deserves more respect than I’ve given it. Not because I want to become reckless. Because I want to stop translating it so quickly into forms that keep other people comfortable at the expense of clarity.
