The StruggleStress

My Body Hasn’t Exhaled Properly in Weeks

Dear Delyara, I think I’ve been stressed for so long that I no longer know what I’m like without it. It has become the background setting of my life. I answer emails while thinking about bills. I cook while replaying conversations. I get ready for bed while already worrying about tomorrow morning. Even my weekends don’t really feel like rest anymore. They feel like time borrowed from anxiety. The strange thing is that from the outside I still look capable. That’s what makes it invisible. People think stress has to be loud. For me, it’s often just constant. A low hum of pressure that never fully switches off.
