My child noticed before I said anything

Dear Delyara, I was in the kitchen, quiet, tired, doing the usual end-of-day things without much spark left in me. My daughter came in, looked at my face, and instead of asking for something straight away, she just hugged me from the side and stayed there for a few seconds. No speech. No analysis. No demand. Just that. I think some of the deepest comfort I get now comes from being noticed before I have to translate myself. Children can do that in such pure ways when they are not busy being chaos in socks. I held her a little longer than usual. That was the only place all day I felt known without effort.
