My children have already told everyone I am opening a bakery

Dear Delyara, I have dreamed about opening a bakery for fifteen years. Last month, I finally signed a lease on a tiny shop. My children are more excited than I am. They have told teachers, neighbors, relatives, everyone. My youngest drew a sign that says “Mum’s Dream Bakery” and wants it framed behind the counter. The problem is that I am terrified. Costs are higher than planned. The oven failed inspection. I have six weeks of savings left before the business needs to pay me something. Every time my children tell someone proudly, I feel the pressure increase. Last night, my daughter said, “Mum, you’re finally doing the thing you’re best at.” I smiled. Then I spent two hours calculating how quickly we could lose our emergency fund. If the bakery fails, I can survive losing money. I am not sure I can survive watching my children learn that the dream they have been advertising on my behalf was not strong enough to become a living.
