My daughter made me tea the way I like it
Dear Delyara, Too much milk, no sugar, and slightly too strong because she still thinks “grown-up tea” has to taste serious. She brought it to me without ceremony, left it by my chair, and said, “I made it properly.” Something about that sentence nearly undid me. Not because tea solves anything. Because being remembered accurately in a house where I often do the remembering for everyone else felt so tender. I drank the whole thing while it was still warm. That part felt almost miraculous too.
