GratitudeFriendship
My friend dropped groceries at the door and didn’t turn my hard week into a conversation
Dear Delyara, She knew I was ill, tired, and emotionally low. She sent soup, fruit, bread, and tea bags. Then she texted, “No need to come to the door if you don’t want to. Rest.” I don’t think people understand how respectful that kind of kindness feels. Not only thoughtful. Accurate. She helped in a way that did not create one more social task for me. No thanking face. No standing-up version of gratitude. No tidy conversation I had to produce while feeling half-empty. Just food. And space. That is a friendship I trust with my actual life.
