My friend let me stay unpolished
Dear Delyara, I think that is one of the most healing things someone can do. To let you remain unpolished. Not in crisis, not performing, not especially entertaining, not wrapped in your best emotional language — just ordinary, a little tired, a little mixed, a little slower than usual. And still, to stay. I had a friendship moment like that this week and it moved me more than the bigger gestures usually do. I think my nervous system trusts quiet permission more than dramatic reassurance now. I’m grateful for people who know how to give it.
