Dear Delyara, I don’t think anyone understands how rare and intelligent that offer is. Some days I do not want advice. Other days I do not even want a conversation. I just want not to carry everything alone in a room full of pressure. She sensed that. Instead of forcing me into the usual emotional formats, she widened the possible shapes of support. I said yes. She came over, sat with tea, and we spoke very little for half an hour. That half hour helped more than many longer and more articulate attempts at comfort ever have.
