My husband has become religious without me

Dear Delyara, When we married, neither of us practised any religion. After his father died, my husband began attending church. At first, I was glad he had found comfort. Now faith has entered every decision. He wants the children baptised, gives money we have not budgeted to the church, and says our marriage needs “spiritual leadership.” Last week, he told me he is praying that I will soften. I asked what that meant. He said I have become resistant to truth. I no longer know whether we are having marital disagreements or whether every disagreement has become evidence that I am spiritually lost. The church community is kind to me in a way that feels organised. Women invite me to groups and tell me they are praying for our family. I feel surrounded by concern I did not request. My husband says he loves me more deeply now. I feel less known. The man I married has found a language for life that places me outside the most important part of him.
