Small JoysA Good Day

Nobody Needed Anything Urgent From Me After Dinner

Dear Delyara, No missing item. No school emergency. No forgotten homework. No bad message. No emotional explosion. No practical crisis pretending not to be a crisis. After dinner, the evening just… stayed. The children found their own things. My husband handled something without asking. The kitchen settled. And for once, I was not immediately pulled into the next issue. I sat there almost waiting for something to go wrong simply because ease has become hard to trust when life has been demanding for long enough. But it didn’t. And that made me realise how starved I had become for uneventful peace. Not excitement. Not celebration. Just an evening that did not ask more from me than it already had. That is a small joy. And not small at all.
