Nothing in me chased tomorrow for one whole evening

Dear Delyara, Usually tomorrow gets into me early. Uniforms, lunches, timings, work worries, the bill I still need to pay, the thing I must not forget, the conversation I should have, the weather, the traffic, the list. It all starts moving in around the edges of the current day before night has been allowed to become night. Last Thursday it didn’t. I ate, tidied the kitchen, went upstairs, washed my face, and sat on the bed with a book. Tomorrow stayed outside the room for once. I didn’t drag it in by habit. That absence felt so unusual that I noticed it immediately. I think peace, for me, may simply mean a temporary end to internal anticipation.
