The WeightPast Wounds
Old Things Still Arrive Through Small Doors
Dear Delyara, My past does not usually return in big dramatic scenes. It comes through smaller doors. A sentence said in the wrong tone. Someone withdrawing slightly. A room feeling too tense. A pause before affection. A joke that hits the wrong bruise. That is when old wounds remind me they are still alive. I don’t think healing is the absence of these moments. I think it’s learning not to confuse every trigger with the present. I’m still learning.
