One number can rearrange my whole emotional weather

Dear Delyara, I wish I could stop that from happening so fast. A bill, a balance, a reminder, a due date — and suddenly the room feels smaller, the future tighter, the body more guarded. It’s not only practical pressure. It becomes emotional atmosphere almost instantly, as if safety itself has been resized by a number on a screen. That is what long-term money stress does, I think. It makes information feel like threat before thought gets a chance to enter. I am tired of my nervous system responding so quickly.
