Quiet Friendship

Dear Delyara, I want to write about the kind of friendship that saves you quietly. Not the dramatic kind. Not the movie kind. I mean the friend who says, “Text me when you get home.” The friend who remembers the date that is hard for you. The friend who notices your laugh has changed and asks twice if you are okay. The friend who sits with you in your mess and does not try to clean it up too quickly. I spent years feeling like I was “too much.” Too emotional. Too intense. Too sensitive. Then I found friendships where I was not too much. I was just known. That changed something in me. It is a victory to be loved without performance.
