She Brought Me Soup

Dear Delyara, Not advice. Not a motivational message. Not “let me know if you need anything” placed kindly into the air where I would still have to do the emotional work of asking. Soup. At the door. Warm. Ready. No drama. No performance. No social pressure to become cheerful enough to deserve it. It nearly broke me open. Because when someone gives you care in a form that reduces effort instead of increasing it, the body recognises the difference immediately. I did not need to host the kindness. I did not need to explain the tiredness. I did not need to make myself emotionally easier to care for. I just had to eat. That felt like real love.
